Welcome to our class blog!
With links to songs we are learning, ideas for how you can support your child and glimpses into our classroom, I hope you will find this blog informative!
This week, we are focusing on Remembrance Day which is right around the corner. Last year, we learned the song "Beau Coquelicot". We enjoyed it so much that we are singing it this year again! Check out the link on the bottom of this post.
In Math, we've been working on Data Management. We are having a lot of fun creating survey questions, interviewing our classmates and representing our data in different ways! At home, try creating a dinner survey question. Think about the possible choices for dinner and ask family members to make a choice. Have your child tell you about the results of the survey.
A new homework calendar was sent home for the month of November yesterday. This is to replace the weekly homework we have been doing. There are many choice of activities that you can do with your child. Choose 2 or 3 each week and colour in the stars as you do them. At the end of the month, students need to complete the "journal" on the back and return the page to be entered into the draw for a special prize!
In Science, we have been having so much fun exploring Solids and Liquids! We are just finishing up our last few experiments before we move onto our exploration of air and water in the environment. At home, try missing different liquids to see what is mixable (miscible) and what is not! It makes for come interesting concoctions!
REMIND - many of you are signed up for Remind. The program allows me to send you text and/or e-mail updates right to your phone! If you are interested but need the login information, please write a note in the agenda.
Thanks so much for all your support of our learning.
Beau Coquelicot
